01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Headlining the menu is Chinrai-men, the signature bowl named after the shop itself. A steaming, glossy starch sauce packed with stir-fried garlic chives and vegetables carries a pronounced dose of garlic, binding with the rich soup and noodles so the bowl stays piping hot down to the last bite. The wider noodle selection stretches from classic soy-sauce ramen to hot and sour noodles, vegetable-topped gomoku soba, and miso ramen, giving diners plenty of ways to suit the day's mood.

Fried rice options are just as varied. The shrimp fried rice, studded with plump, savoury prawns, holds its own as a satisfying single order. For heartier appetites, combination sets pair ramen with a half-portion of fried rice, spicy fried rice, lettuce fried rice, or a miso pork rice bowl. Sets can be tailored further by swapping the broth for salt ramen or adjusting the portion, giving diners complete control over the size and seasoning of their meal.

Plump, substantial gyoza and classic stir-fries like ginger pork or pork and chives work equally well as main dishes or alongside a chilled bottled beer or highball. Service moves briskly, and the dining room includes counter stools alongside raised tatami seating where guests can stretch their legs, accommodating solo lunch-goers and families out for dinner with equal ease. Payment is cash only, so keep some yen on hand when you visit.
